The waterfalls in Yosemite in Spring are awe-inspiring, with Yosemite Falls being one of the world's tallest and they are just the opening act on a brilliant holiday bursting with visual treats in Spring of 2027. Our 'Pacific Vistas' holiday offers guests two days in this magnificent National Park, when waterfalls are at their peak and a highlight is a full day tour that shows sights most people do not see like Glacier Point, Cathedral Spires, Vernal Falls, and Turtleback Dome, in addition to favorites like Half Dome, El Capitan, Bridalveil Falls, and much more. This day tour is the most extensive tour offered of the park and is a highlight even for those who have experienced Yosemite before.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves. This wondrous trip begins in historic Old Sacramento with time to visit the acclaimed California State Railroad Museum if you wish before our casual welcome dinner. The next day, a scenic drive south to Yosemite brings us into the astonishing park with stops at the visitors center and Ansel Adams Gallery, along with plenty of photo stops. The next day is an extraordinary full-day tour of Yosemite with a local tour guide with years of experience. They know where to go and when to be there. Nicely, with a two-night hotel stay, there is plenty of time to relax, at a leisurely pace.

After two days in Yosemite, we drive south to the California coast at Oxnard for a two-night stay in one of our favorite resorts, the acclaimed Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, a stunning resort with amazing views, superb suites, and a wonderful beach. Our guests enjoy two nights in this magnificent setting before another visual treat, train travel along the California coast to San Diego aboard the popular Pacific Surfliner train with over 120 miles of ocean viewing.

Saving the best for last, at San Diego, we board the Koningsdam of Holland America Line for a rare seven-night Baja cruise to the Sea of Cortez that offers two of our favorite ports, Loreto and La Paz. The Sea of Cortez is remarkably beautiful and unspoiled, and there is no more comfortable way to see it. With Yosemite, the California coast, a fine ship, and a brilliant cruise itinerary, this one-time holiday will sell out. We invite you to join us.

Arrive in Sacramento and transfer to the Holiday Inn Old Sacramento (or similar) for an overnight stay. There is time today to visit the spectacular California State Railroad Museum. Later tonight, a casual welcome dinner and a nice way to meet your fellow travelers.

Today is a visual treat and we drive through California's Gold Country to Yosemite with a sneak peek today before our all-day tour tomorrow. Highlights today include the Ansel Adams Gallery, Sentinel Bridge and Tunnel View, these are just a warm up for tomorrow. Overnight at Tenaya at Fish Camp or similar.

Words do not do justice to the day we enjoy in Yosemite today with a full day, complete with an expert guide, with visits to Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Bridalveil Fall, Glacier Point, Wawona, Ribbon Falls, Cathedral Spires, and Vernal Falls, to name just a few. This is a view of Yosemite most people never see and is an awe-inspriring day.

Another beautiful day as we travel to the California coast with a two-night stay at remarkable Zachari Dunes Resort on Mandalay Bay with its stunning views, comfortable suites and only a five-minute walk from Oxnard State Beach and our home for the next two nights.

Today is the ultimate luxury when traveling, a free day to do whatever you like. Sleep in. golf, enjoy the spa or outdoor pool or just relax.

All Aboard! This morning we enjoy one of the prettiest train trips in North America, from Oxnard to San Diego with much of the trip being along the Pacific Ocean as we travel south to the Koningsdam. At San Diego, we board this splendid Holland America liner for our trip to Baja.

Los Cabos—sits at the tip of the Baja California, a narrow strip of land whose varied geography makes for great vistas. You can ride a camel, or enjoy more predictable pursuits including fishing, golfing and whale-watching. You can visit picture-perfect El Arco for photos.

The port of Pichilingue sits just 12 miles north of La Paz, a charming city on the Baja California Peninsula. The name La Paz translates as "peace," but it is possible that the Spaniards chose that with some sense of irony. The first Spanish conquistadores landed here in 1535, yet it took them nearly 200 years to build the first settlement due to resistance from the indigenous people in the area.

Peaceful seaside Loreto dates to 1697, when it became the first colonial settlement on the Baja Peninsula and the capital of the Spanish colony of the Californias. These days, the town has spread beyond its colonial origins, but it retains beautiful relics from the past, especially of the Dominican, Franciscan and Jesuit orders, all of which were active here.
