Your adventure begins with two nights in quaint Newport along Oregon's lovely Pacific Coast. Follow one of America's most scenic highways past rugged cliffs, crashing surf, picturesque lighthouses, fishing villages, and iconic landmarks including Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock, Yaquina Head, and the Oregon Dunes.

A memorable highlight is a ride aboard the historic Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad from Garibaldi. Relax in vintage railcars as you travel beside Tillamook Bay through coastal forests to the beaches of Rockaway on this pretty journey.

From the coast, journey across the Willamette Valley to Ashland for a two-night stay and an excursion to Crater Lake National Park. Marvel at the deepest lake in the United States, where brilliant sapphire-blue waters fill an ancient volcanic caldera surrounded by spectacular overlooks and unforgettable vistas.

Continuing through the Rogue Valley and the beautiful Smith River Canyon, giant redwoods line the highway as you arrive in historic Eureka for another two-night stay. Spend a full day exploring Redwood National Park, where ancient forests create one of North America's most inspiring natural landscapes.

Your journey continues along California's legendary Avenue of the Giants before following the Trinity River through the Trinity Alps to Redding. The grand finale is Lassen Volcanic National Park, where steaming geothermal features, crystal-clear alpine lakes, and volcanic peaks provide spectacular sights, and a grand finale before we arrive in Sacramento.

Your journey begins as we leave Portland behind and travel west through Oregon's lush Coast Range toward the Pacific Ocean. Soon the salty sea air and dramatic shoreline announce our arrival on one of America's most spectacular coastal highways. Along the way we'll visit picturesque Cannon Beach, home to iconic Haystack Rock, before continuing south through charming seaside communities and fertile dairy country. This afternoon we arrive in Newport, overlooking Yaquina Bay, where we'll settle in for a relaxing two-night stay.

Today is devoted to the breathtaking beauty of the Oregon Coast. Following Highway 101 north, we arrive in the quaint harbor town of Garibaldi to board the historic Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad. Relax aboard beautifully restored vintage railcars as our train hugs Tillamook Bay, crossing estuaries and winding through evergreen forests before reaching the sandy beaches of Rockaway Beach.

Following our rail excursion, enjoy lunch overlooking the harbor before continuing along one of America's most scenic coastal roads. Along the way we'll admire picturesque lighthouses, rugged headlands, crashing surf, secluded coves and sweeping ocean vistas before returning to Newport for another evening beside the Pacific.

Leaving the Pacific behind, today's journey crosses the fertile Willamette Valley before climbing through the forested foothills of the Cascades. Vineyards, mountain forests and picturesque valleys provide ever-changing scenery as we travel south toward one of Oregon's most charming communities.

Late this afternoon we arrive in Ashland, renowned for its beautiful parks, galleries, boutiques and inviting downtown. Enjoy two relaxing nights in this delightful Southern Oregon town.

Today's excursion takes us to one of America's greatest natural wonders—magnificent Crater Lake National Park.

Created nearly 8,000 years ago by the collapse of ancient Mount Mazama, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States and is famous for its extraordinary sapphire-blue waters. As we circle portions of the Rim Drive, breathtaking overlooks reveal stunning panoramas of Wizard Island, sheer volcanic cliffs and crystal-clear waters that seem almost unreal. Every turn offers another unforgettable photograph.

Late this afternoon, we return to Ashland for another relaxing evening

Leave the charming town of Ashland behind as you journey through the rugged Siskiyou Mountains and along the spectacular Redwood Highway. By afternoon, you'll enter the world of the towering coast redwoods, where ancient giants line the scenic drive through Redwood National and State Parks. Arrive in historic Eureka for a two-night stay, with time to explore its beautifully restored Old Town and picturesque waterfront

Today is devoted to one of California's most unforgettable scenic drives—the legendary Avenue of the Giants. Wander beneath some of the tallest trees on Earth, discover peaceful groves, and enjoy the quiet beauty of Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Returning to Eureka, you'll have time to visit its Victorian landmarks, browse local shops, or simply relax along Humboldt Bay.

Today's drive is one of Northern California's hidden gems. Designated the Trinity Scenic Byway, Highway 299 crosses dramatically different landscapes, from the cool, fog-kissed redwood coast to sunny oak woodlands, rugged granite mountains, rushing rivers, and historic Gold Rush towns. The U.S. Forest Service describes the route as "From the Valley Oaks to the Redwood Coast," reflecting the remarkable diversity of scenery and ecosystems encountered in a single day.

This afternoon we arrive in mountain-framed Redding for our final overnight and special farewell dinner.

Our final day showcases another remarkable landscape as we journey into Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Steam rises from bubbling geothermal features while colorful volcanic peaks tower above crystal-clear alpine lakes. Discover Sulphur Works, beautiful Lake Helen and the dramatic volcanic landscapes created by one of North America's youngest volcanic regions.

Descending from the mountains, fertile valleys gradually replace rugged peaks as we arrive in Sacramento, concluding a remarkable journey through some of the most spectacular scenery in the West.

Guests are dropped off at the airport, or the Amtrak Station, or may choose to extend their stay in historic Sacramento. Guests departing today should book their departure no earlier than 4:00 pm.
