About this trip

Colorado offers two treasures that travelers have cherished for generations: some of the most spectacular scenery in North America and a collection of legendary train rides born from the state’s rich mining and logging history. Now imagine experiencing these breathtaking routes through the Old West while enjoying fine hotels and dining with the ease of small-group touring. Then add one more irresistible highlight—a visit to the enchanting city of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This holiday is designed not just to be memorable, but unforgettable.

Your journey begins in Denver, with a welcoming downtown hotel so you can settle in comfortably and start your adventure without the stress of tight connections or last-minute worries. From there, the magic begins. As we head west, you’ll experience a curated series of incredibly scenic train rides, each more captivating than the last. Along the way, enjoy fine hotel stays, generous free time, and remarkable destinations such as historic Leadville, the stunning beauty of Grand Mesa, and the Old West town of Durango, where the spirit of the frontier still echoes.

Then come the crown jewels of the trip: the famed Durango & Silverton and the Cumbres & Toltec Railroads—both consistently ranked among the best train journeys in the world. These rides aren’t just scenic; they’re breathtaking, immersive, and truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

When you combine this outstanding itinerary with thoughtful inclusions, an unhurried pace, and the magic of Santa Fe, you have a holiday that stands in a class of its own. Opportunities like this don’t last long—this program will sell out quickly.
