About this trip

Some cities don’t just welcome you—they pull you in. Montréal and Québec City have done exactly that for us for years, each in its own unforgettable way.

Montréal greets you with an easy cosmopolitan confidence. French at heart and global in spirit, it’s a city of grand boulevards and hidden corners, sunlit parks and café-lined streets, historic Old Port and the quiet majesty of Mount Royal. It’s a place to linger over remarkable meals, great shopping, and moments infused with pure joie de vivre. Our stay is perfectly paced, with two nights in a luxury hotel that lets you experience Montréal as it was meant to be savored.

Québec City feels like stepping into another world entirely. Enclosed within ancient stone walls and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a living tapestry of art, architecture, and history. Cobblestone streets lead to dramatic vistas, intimate bistros, and centuries-old landmarks that reward the curious at every turn. Two nights in a fine hotel allow you time to wander, explore, and fall under the spell of one of North America’s most magical cities.

From there, the journey deepens. Uncommon Journeys is renowned for crafting inspired train-and-ship combinations, and even by our own standards, this one-time holiday is amazing. The experience unfolds aboard a fourteen-day voyage from Québec City to Fort Lauderdale, sailing along Canada’s Atlantic provinces and the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.

Along the way, we call at Saguenay’s dramatic fjords, Prince Edward Island’s pastoral charm, and the historic harbors of Sydney and Halifax in Nova Scotia. Sailing south, we explore Boston and Newport, Rhode Island, before an unforgettable two-day stay in New York City—using the ship as your hotel and giving you the freedom to immerse yourself fully in the energy of the Big Apple. A rare visit to Charleston, South Carolina, follows, before we arrive in Fort Lauderdale.

Your home at sea is the Sapphire Princess, a ship designed for discovery and delight. With over 700 balcony staterooms and suites, an impressive collection of dining venues, inviting lounges and bars, expansive deck spaces, pools, spa, casino, and live music throughout, life onboard is as engaging as the destinations themselves. Princess Cruises is celebrated for its entertainment—and you’ll quickly see why.

With two iconic Canadian cities, thoughtfully chosen hotels, including sightseeing, memorable dining, a relaxed pace, and a scenic journey aboard VIA Rail Canada—Canada’s acclaimed national rail system—this holiday begins with elegance and unfolds with wonder.

This is a one-time journey, and we expect it to fill quickly. Early reservations are very wise.

All aboard—your adventure awaits.
