Amtrak’s Coast Starlight is widely considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in North America. From 131 miles of breathtaking travel along the California coast to a daylight crossing of Oregon’s majestic Cascade Range, this is a voyage of epic scenery — and the most relaxing way to begin your adventure to one of the highest-rated ships afloat, Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth.
Even better, we’ve included First Class sleeping car accommodations aboard the Coast Starlight, featuring your own private room with beds and all meals included in the recently upgraded dining car. For added convenience, travelers across California enjoy complimentary connecting train travel to the nearest Coast Starlight boarding point. Guests in San Diego or Orange County connect seamlessly in Los Angeles, while those in the Central Valley receive free travel to the Bay Area to join the train.
Upon arriving in Seattle, you’ll settle into an elegant First-Class downtown hotel, with ample time — until late afternoon on day two — to explore this vibrant city. Visit Pike Place Market, ride the Monorail to the iconic Space Needle, or simply wander the waterfront. And for those who wish to linger a bit longer, we offer excellent rates on additional nights in Seattle.
Then your voyage continues north to Alaska’s fabled Inside Passage, a region that almost defies the English language for superlatives. This superb itinerary includes charming Ketchikan, majestic Juneau — with Mendenhall Glacier just a short drive away — and awe-inspiring Glacier Bay National Park, a place many travelers consider the most magnificent sight in North America.
But the grandeur isn’t only outside. The Queen Elizabeth herself is a masterpiece of classic ocean liner style, with splendid Art Deco–inspired interiors, the magnificent two-deck Britannia Restaurant, the grand Queens Room, and the elegant Royal Court Theatre for nightly entertainment. You’ll also enjoy refined lounges, the Golden Lion Pub, a stylish casino, an exceptional spa, and so much more.
This extraordinary holiday has only one flaw: 2026 is the final year Queen Elizabeth will sail to Alaska. This voyage will sell out quickly, so prompt reservations are highly recommended.
