About this trip

We have devised the perfect Western vacation that offers places of stunning beauty like Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and the California coast, along with rides on seven unique or historic railroads, all in one leisurely trip with great sightseeing, a relaxed pace, comfortable hotels, and fine dining. Not only are there spectacular train rides, but plenty of free time, with the majority of our hotel stays being two or three nights long. Never before has such a unique collection of train rides over scenic routes been offered.

During this trip, we will enjoy rides on the Heber Valley Railroad, the Nevada Northern Railroad, the Virginia & Truckee Railroad, the Placerville & Sacramento Valley Road, the Sierra Railroad, the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, and the Roaring Camp Railroad on a carefully planned itinerary.

Beginning in Salt Lake City at the acclaimed Little America Hotel, we travel west, hitting the historic mining town of Ely, NV, then onward to storied Virginia City and Lake Tahoe, where a three-hour lake cruise is included. Then, into Northern California with a visit to Yosemite, all before ending in San Jose, CA. All hotels are well-chosen and include breakfast daily in addition to welcome and farewell dinners and countless other treats like an organ Concert at Temple Square in Salt Lake City and a visit to the amazing National Car Museum in Reno, NV.

These two departures are certain to sell out soon, so we invite you to join us. All Aboard!
